Pricing set by the government of Bhutan
Announcement of Bhutan's Tour Package Cost Revision:
Effective January 1, 2012, the minimum government-mandated rate will be increased from $200/night/person to $250/night/person during peak months.
The details of the revision are as follows:
1. USD250 per person per night on a twin sharing basis for the months of March, April, May, September, October, and November beginning January 1, 2012.
2. USD200 per person per night on a twin sharing basis for the months of January, February, June, July, August, and December beginning January 1, 2012.
There will also be a Bhutan government surcharge of $40/night for solo travelers and $30/night/person for two people in a group. There is no Bhutan government surcharge for three or more people in a group.

The daily tariff per night for both the high season and the low season is set by the government of Bhutan. In addition, there is a government surcharge per night for individual travelers and for groups of two. For groups of three or more there is no government surcharge. Jachung Travel charges these set rates for its tours and does not charge a tour rate above or in addition to the gov. rates.
High-season rate: February to May and August to December
Individual traveler: US$200 per night (plus surcharge of US$40/night)
Groups of two people: US$200 per night per person (plus surcharge of US$30/night/person)
Groups of three or more: US$200 per night per person (no surcharge)
Low-season rate: January, June and July
Individual traveler: US$165 per night (plus surcharge of US$40/night)
Groups of two people: US$165 per night per person (plus surcharge of US$30 /night/person)
Groups of three or more: US$165 per night per person (no surcharge)
The price of the tour packages as set forth above includes the Bhutan government tariff, the surcharge, accommodations, meals, overland transport within Bhutan, sightseeing, a local tour guide, airport transfers, and pack animals and supplies for treks.
The tour package price does not include airfare, a visa fee of US$20, a Paro airport tax of US$20, a Bangkok airport tax of US$20, alcohol, gifts/souvenirs, tips to drivers and guides, service outside of Bhutan, or travel insurance.
NOTE: If you wish to stay in one of the luxury resorts (Uma in Paro, Taj Tashi in Thimphu or Zhiwaling in Paro), you will need to make an additional payment in full. Our tour rate does not cover the high cost of these resorts. Our rate covers tourist-standard accommodations only.
Discounts
» There is a discount for visits in duration of more than 10 days. The discount is 10% per night per person. The discount is not applied to the first 10 days but is applied to day 11 and onward.
» There will be no charge for children aged 5 and younger. Children aged 6 through 12 will be given a 50% discount when accompanied by an adult/guardian.
» Full-time students under the age of 25 will be given a 20% discount if they have a valid identity card from their academic institution.
Payments and fees
You can make your trip payment in two parts. First you can make a payment for your Druk Air tickets, and later you can make your tour payment. You will have to pay two separate wire transfer fees ($30 for each transfer). You will need to make your tour payment at least 7 weeks prior to your arrival in Bhutan to allow time for your visa to be processed.
Payment for the Druk Air tickets
The payment for the Druk Air tickets can be made via credit card, check, electronic transfer, or wire transfer. If you choose to make the Druk Air payment with a credit card, there is an additional processing fee of 4%.
Payment for the tour
The tour payment can be made via check, electronic transfer, or wire transfer. You should make the tour payment at least 7 weeks before your arrival in Bhutan to allow time to process your visa.
