Hike to Paro Tiger's Nest Monastery.

The monastery is located 6.5 miles to the north of Paro. The monastery hangs on a precipitous cliff at 10,000 feet, about 3,000 feet above the Paro valley. The rock slopes are very steep (almost vertical) and the monastery buildings are built into the rock face. The hike to the monastery makes for a nice half-day excursion.

Welcome to the Kingdom of Bhutan: Jachung Travel

Embark on an exciting trip to Bhutan, a kingdom in the midst of the Himalayas. With us you will experience the wonders of the country, with its never-ending mountains, deep lush valleys, peaceful Buddhist culture, friendly people, and unique Bhutanese architecture. Bhutan is a pristine country nestled between Tibet (to the north) and India (to the south, east, and west), and the fact that it has been able to maintain a very strong cultural and national identity, considering its small size, is refreshing. Bhutan is the place to go if you want to be surrounded by breathtaking scenery every moment of the day.

Jachung Travel is a Bhutanese-owned, Bay Area-based tour company offering cultural tours, trekking, and unique travel in Bhutan, in cooperation with its partner, a professional, licensed tour operator in Bhutan. Through us you will learn about the Bhutanese culture, expand your mind, and leave with the feeling that you've had a unique unforgettable experience. We hold ourselves to the highest standards and provide the best services possible, with the goal of giving you the adventure of your life

Trekking in Bhutan is a unique and wonderful experience! You will hike through deep forests, along rushing streams, through typical villages, across high mountain passes, and near rice paddy terraces, encountering blue sheep, a variety of birds, yaks and yak herders, takins, and monkeys. On our Jumolhari trek you will even have the chance to camp at the base of the second-highest mountain in Bhutan. Imagine waking up to the sun rising over the majestic peak, while breakfast is being prepared for you. If you're up for a challenge, you will enjoy our Laya/Gasa or Jumolhari trek, but if you'd prefer a more moderate trek, our Gantey, Druk Path, or Jumolhari Base Camp trek would be perfect for you. Our team of experts will guide you every step of the way and make sure you have the best experience possible.
